Nutritional Testing and Support

As a fan of Chiropractic, you already have some understanding of the body’s built-in mechanisms for healing and staying healthy. The “staying healthy” is challenging in today’s over-processed, over-stressed and over-medicated environment. Originally, we were gifted with a world abundant in whole foods to support every body's needs. Unfortunately, "progress" tampered with our natural food sources and now providing our bodies with the nutrients necessary to health is not as easy as it used to be. At Wilcox Family Chiropractic, our goal is to help you take charge of your health care Naturally. And restoring optimum health with good nutrition is a large part of a healthy you.

How do you know?

With all the claims out there about what to take for prevention or support, how do you know what your body needs and which types of supplements will work best? That's where we can help. Through proven modalities, we have the tools that will help you figure out what YOUR body needs, how much it and what kind will work the best.

Getting Started:

By working with Dr. Randy, Dr. Amy and our trained staff, we will help you find the nutrients that may be missing in your diet and provide suggestions for whole foods and herbal supplements to replace these missing keys to a healthier you.

Complete Nutrition Self-Health Care: This option provides "the works". Your initial exam includes
  • Symptom Survey & Health History: These forms takes you on an enlightening journey through your past and current health status and provides a starting point for measuring your progress.
  • Interview: This important element gives you the opportunity to share specific concerns and gives us the opportunity to ask questions to further our understanding of your history and current health status.
  • Heart Rate Variability Test: Our Autonomic Nervous System (ANS) is the body's mechanism in charge of our healing. This fully automatic, non-invasive test helps us determine the current status of your ANS. The results of this test and periodic re-tests will also help measure progress.
  • Nutrition Response Testing: This precise and scientific technique shows us where strengths and weaknesses are in the body, using your body's own muscle responses. It also provides physical guidance into which support is necessary for systematic approach to wellness.
  • Report of Findings: On a return visit (included in the fee for the initial exam), we will present the results of our findings including a suggested plan for starting your Complete Nutrition Self-Health Care.
Maintenance: Once on a plan, or, perhaps you are already on another nutritional plan, these maintenance visits provide periodic rechecks to make sure that your program is still working. These appointments generally last 10 - 15 minutes. If you think that you'll need more time, please let us know when scheduling your appointment.

Consultation: This choice provides a general nutritional support plan based on your symptom survey, health history and interview. Survey and health history need to be completed before the visit. Forms may be downloaded, picked up at the office or we can mail them to you ahead of time.

Call today to schedule your appointment. We are currently accepting nutrition patients on Wednesdays. Prior to your visit, download and complete the New Patient Information Form and Health Assessment Form. Make it extra convenient on yourself by scheduling your nutrition appointment with your Chiropractic visit. If you have any questions, give us a call.

Dr. Randy Asks some important questions of interest to Kentwood residents - Chiropractor Kentwood Dr. Randy Asks...

What are the two things drugs do?
Drugs can either speed up (laxatives, amphetamines, caffeine) a bodily process, or slow down (stomach antacids, sleep aids, antihistamines, muscle relaxers) a bodily process. Chiropractic care can produce the same results, but relies on the intelligence of the body. Chiropractors trust your body. Do you?
How does headache medication find the headache?
It can't! Chiropractors know that when you ingest a drug and it enters your bloodstream it numbs or deadens your entire body. Chiropractic adjustments, on the other hand, are specific, targeted and delivered with precision.
