Kentwood Chiropractors FAQ

As Kentwood chiropractors, we hear many questions from new and current chiropractic patients. Here are some of the most common questions and answers…

Can you help my particular condition?

Kentwood Chiropractors frequently asked questions

Kentwood Chiropractors are often asked…’Does it hurt to get adjusted?’

When we correct spinal subluxations the nervous system is free to function as it should which allows the body to heal itself. So if subluxations are present we can help your body to function better by removing the interference and restoring nerve flow.

Does it hurt to get adjusted?

No. The majority of the adjusting at done by your Kentwood MI Chiropractor here at Wilcox Family Chiropractic is done with a hand held instrument which delivers a high speed low force thrust which moves your spinal bones. The feeling is similar to what you would feel if I poked you with my finger.

How much does it cost?

Chiropractic care is quite affordable and many insurances help pay a portion of the cost. We participate with many local plans such as Priority Health, BCBS and Bluecare Network, Cofinity (formerly PPOM), ASR and Medicare, among others. Many folks these days have high deductible plans and are using their flexible spending accounts or health care savings accounts to pay for their treatment. We also offer individual treatment plans and discounts for prepayments of fees. We will call on your insurance and check coverage details for you prior to you coming to our office if you would like.

How long will it take for me to get better?

That depends on your health goals. Treatment time can be as little as a few visits for simple pain relief of uncomplicated sprains to a lifetime of care for those who want to insure that they have the best ability to experience their full inborn potential to live and vibrant and healthy life. The decision for your care is always yours to make and we gladly support whatever you decide!

Is chiropractic care safe? Even for kids?

Yes it is! Our response to this question is always to compare our liability insurance rates to those of other medical providers. Ours are consistently lower and that means fewer claims. The likelihood of getting struck by lightening is greater than a life-threatening injury from a spinal adjustment.
